Preparation

1. Grind together, desiccated coconut, Peanuts and whole red chillis and make a coarse powder. 2. Now heat oil in a pan and crackle cumin seeds, add chopped onions and cook for 2 minutes. 3. After onion turn slightly pink, add slit green chillis. 4. Saute them for 2 more minutes and add curry leaves, cook for a minute and add ginger garlic paste. 5. Cook again for a minute on low heat and add turmeric powder, salt, red chilli powder, black pepper powder and coriander powder. 6. Cook for one minute and add coarsely ground peanuts and coconut powder. 7. Cook all of these on low heat for 1 minute and add few tablespoon of water to make think masala. 8. Add chicken pieces and coat them evenly with masala. 9. Add tamarind paste and garam masala powder. 10. Fry them for 5 minutes while covered and add 1 cup water. 11. Cover and simmer for 5-6 minutes till chicken is fully cooked
